5 Hot Swimwear Trends To Wear in Vegas in 2015

Let me stop you right there in your train track of thought - it's actually not too early to be thinking about swimwear for the 2015 season. Why else would Victoria's Secret be sending out their swim catalog, or all those ads pushing bikini-clad models into your Facebook news feed? Since everyone is all health conscious and preparing for their beach bods for the oncoming Spring Break, we thought it was time to put some initial thoughts as to what swimwear trends Vegas will be showing this year. We've rounded up some of the best trends from designers across the fashion industry to give you a heads up at what's hot for 2015 swimwear so you can get a head start on turning some heads.

Fluttering Tops

This year you'll be seeing a lot of girly ruffles and flowy accents. The majority of these elements will show up on the bikini tops, but it's fun to see the fluttering fabrics show up on a monokini like the white one here or adding some ruffle texture on a little bikini bottom, too. It should also be noted that you'll see some of these fluttering tops mixed with another 2015 trend, which includes high line tops. Basically, this is a bikini top with a longer bodice, similar to a crop top.

High Neck Halters & Sporty Influences

Something we're seeing that's pretty new and specific to 2015 is the introduction of the high neck tops and quite a bit of sporty functionality. Most ladies will revel in the fact that you can get even coverage and actual sports bra-like support while still staying trendy and "a la mode" with the newer options popping up on the racks (in more ways than one - racks, get it?!). This is giving a great opportunity for designers to show some cool, cut-out effects or sheer mesh fabrics with a high neck bikini top, so you might find some unique pieces along those lines.

Monokinis

Not a new trend by any means, but monokini's are still going to be popular in 2015 and are definitely still popular in Vegas for those that have the body type to pull something like this off. I'm not one of them, but power to you ladies that can rock it without looking like a belly-bandage-wrapped-fool. Since monokini's aren't ground-breaking swimwear, this is an opportunity to integrate more 2015 trends in regards to color, pattern and fabric. You'll see lots of animal and tribal print, plus some seriously cool fabrics like mesh or even leather.

Strappy, Cheeky Bottoms

Show some skin while you're in Sin City! The ever-popular cheeky bottom bikini is a staple for any dayclub-goer and pool-party princess. This year, you're going to be seeing a lot of swimwear that falls into the "itty bitty bikini" persuasion, but with a strappy take on it all. Enter your friends Fringe, Neon, and Metallic. Make those bikini sides show off some extra hip with lots of small straps and, dare I say it, an element of surprise. Just not the kind of surprise like, "Where did my suit bottoms go?!" because let's all hope those extra straps keep you pulled together during the pool lounging days while drinking bottomless mojitos. The mojitos are bottomless. Not you.

Jewelry Integration

I still strongly suggest treating yourself to an awesome piece of body jewelry to wear with your suit this year, as discussed in How To Survive a Vegas Dayclub article. However, this year you'll see a lot of your swimwear options with the jewelry already included. Beaded necklines, glittery chains, and appliqué that add a touch of tribal glam are always a good decision. I can't help but always think how important it will be to apply lots of sunscreen on skin under those jewelry elements because the tan lines you could potentially get would be hilarious, so make sure you prevent folks from laughing at you by ensuring even coverage.
