Eating In Las Vegas: Citizens at Mandalay Bay Hotel

The Experience
This is the 24 hour hotel café that has been taken to another level. You’ll soon find out that regardless of what time you are having a meal you can probably expect more than your typical coffee shop menu. This is comfort food that is getting you to an even more comfortable level. Leave your dietary restrictions at home because you’ll walk in to Citizens for a convenient meal and walk out stuffed. The portions are ample and you’ll be surprised but what they are doing.

Who You Are Taking To The Restaurant
This is the Mandalay Bay’s version of a 24 spot to get food. It’s not a coffee shop but it can play one in a pinch. Instead it is the place you go for a large lunch or even a casual dinner. I’ll suggest you split something because the portions are large and you’ll save a few dollars by not over indulging. If you are traveling with the family this restaurant can work but you have to be careful not to let that bill get out of control. Once again the prices are by no means cheap but you can split some items and you’ll save on the overall price.

What You’ll Order
I have to tell you about the banana macadamia nut pancakes because they are the reason you’ll go there for breakfast. They are just a small step below the pancakes at the Gazebo in Napili Bay in West Maui. Yes, that is a bold statement but they are getting the cream correct. The sandwiches are good but huge and you have to order the loaded potato simply because butter and potatoes are beautiful. Other breakfast items you should try include the corned beef hash skillet and the sausage and biscuits. Lunch and dinner suggestions: Get the baked meatball and you can make that your entire meal. You can get it in a sandwich but as a stand alone dish it is pretty good. The Balboa Steak Sandwich is a French Dip that deserves to be shared.
