Hitting Up The Fights This Fall

Whether it be boxing, UFC or WWE: Raw, if you're headed to town for the fights this fall you'll want to know where to stay, where to play and the best places to watch the fights.

WWE: RAW at Thomas & Mack Center
If you’re in town for a little “RAW” action on Monday, August 18, your best bet for finding a great room at the lowest price would be to make a reservation at Planet Hollywood. We’ve checked the calendar and this hotspot will have the best rates in town while still keeping you on the Strip.

Soak up the sun before the fights at Bare Pool Lounge at the Mirage Hotel & Casino. It’s an industry day, which means you’ll get a chance to meet a lot of locals, sip some delicious libations and take a dip in the refreshing water.

If you’re in town the Sunday night before, you have a chance to catch Wolfgang Gartner spinning at XS Nightclub’s night swim or Henrix at Eclipse, which is Daylight’s night swim.

Where to dine? Well, you can head to McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon for their Monday happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. This will get you a $3 select draft or $4 glass of wine plus discounts on appetizers, pizza and salad.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana at MGM Grand Garden Arena
Spend Saturday, Sept. 13 (the day of the fight) at the Box Fan Expo in the Las Vegas Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The expo covers everything in the boxing world and you’ll get to meet Mike Tyson, Roy Jones Jr. and many more. This will get you really geared up for the Mayweather vs. Maidana fight later that night.

The fight will be at the MGM Grand Arena and if you can’t afford to stay at the MGM, your best bet for lower rates would be to book at either The Mirage Hotel & Casino or Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.

If you just came into town to feel the ambiance of the fight weekend, but don’t have tickets, there are several venues that will have ticketed viewing parties including Hyde Bellagio, Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club or Miller’s Ale House.

UFC 178: Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson and Chris Cariaso at MGM Grand Garden Arena Bay
While you may be a little saddened by Jon Jone’s injury and thus the rescheduling of his fight with Daniel Cormier, the flyweight title showdown between Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso will be just as amazing.

Book a room at either The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino or The Mirage Hotel & Casino. If you don’t have tickets, you can get check out a viewing party at any Buffalo Wild Wings for free (must order food though), Cabo Wabo Cantina or Laggasse's Stadium at Palazzo Resort Hotel and Casino.

If you want to get in some of the last Vegas pool days, definitely head to Rehab Pool Party where DJs Ikon and Wellman will be performing. After the fight, they'll be plenty going on around town, we recommend checking out Drai's After Hours club inside the basement of The Cromwell. It opens at 1 a.m. and is the perfect nightcap for your evening, err, morning?
