Hotel Addict: Planet Hollywood Las Vegas

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas was known as the Aladdin until it was sold almost 10 years ago. It has been undergoing nips and tucks for much of that time while exuding a very modern theme. At the resort, there is ample shopping, excellent dining and entertainment options; however location may be Planet Hollywood's greatest asset as it is across the street from Bellagio Las Vegas, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and CityCenter and next door to Paris Las Vegas.

Naturally with the name, movies play a large part of the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort and Casino and every guest room is adorned with memorabilia from a different movie. You may also recognize Planet Hollywood from countless movies including "21" which starred Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth.

Accommodations

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas has eight different room and suite types.  Even the smallest, the 450-square foot Hollywood Hip room is plenty spacious and has a giant bathroom. In addition to traditional rooms and suites, the resort offers rentals of PH Towers rooms to guests that are upscale and filled with more electronic gadgets than you could imagine. The PH Towers also offer direct access to the Miracle Mile Shops.

Shopping at the Miracle Mile Shops

The Miracle Mile Shops are a 1.2 mile long retail/entertainment complex that surrounds the Planet Hollywood casino. Miracle Mile Shops boasts people movers, a cool backlit sidewalk water feature, crystal chandeliers, and a multimillion dollar fountain show at the center of the shops. Miracle Mile Shops features 15 eateries including PBR Rock Bar, Lobster ME, D’Amore’s Famous Pizza and Cheeseburger in Paradise, live entertainment at the V Theater and Saxe Theater as well as 170 specialty stores including retail brands such as H&M, Urban Outfitters, Ben Sherman, Quiksilver, bebe, Sephora, French Connection, Betsey Johnson, Frederick’s of Hollywood and True Religion Brand Jeans.  Together, one of the best shopping malls in Las Vegas.

Dining

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas offers some of the broadest eating options on The Strip. If you are in the mood for fine dining you can get sushi from Koi or a steak from Strip House. If you're looking for a more casual dining experience, grab a quick bite at Earl of Sandwich which may be one of the best bargains on The Strip, Planet Dailies has great diner-like options and one of the best omelets you'll find in Vegas as well open 24 hours. The dining options continue with Yolos Mexican Grill, Spice Market Buffet, Pink’s Hot Dogs and PF Chang's China Bistro.

Entertainment

As the night calls you can head over to Heart Bar which has the pulse of the casino floor or Extra (TV) Lounge before you head into Gallery Nightclub to party the night away.  If you are looking to catch a show instead of dancing the night away at a nightclub, Peepshow which stars former "Playboy Girls Next Door" blonde bombshell, Holly Madison, is a great option and a little risque.

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas has a great center Strip location and should be on everyone’s radar when looking to come to Las Vegas.  It also has a young, party atmosphere with plenty of dining and shopping options if you're not in the mood to leave the casino itself. With a mid-range price point, Planet Hollywood is one of the best bargains on The Strip.
