Keeping Cool On The Las Vegas Strip

The middle of summer can get a little uncomfortable on the Las Vegas strip as the temperatures soar and the sun becomes relentless. First, don’t abandon the pool idea as that is still a must do in Las Vegas. You can’t possibly visit during the warm months and not get in a tiny bit of sun worshiping. However, if you need a respite from the sun and cocktails and all of that mingling in the shallow water with the pretty people is getting to you, here are a few options.

How To Keep Cool And Out of The Heat In Las Vegas

Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art: This small, intimate gallery pulls in some very impressive exhibits and packs them into a space that gives you just enough culture to leave you wanting for more but not so much that you can’t wait to get out. The current exhibition: Painting Women: Works from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston runs through October 26, 2014. If you can fit in one of their Wine and Art events you can learn about the art while you enjoy wines that are specifically paired with pieces on display.
Open Daily: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Last admission at 6:30 p.m

Mob Museum, National Museum of Organized Crime & Law Enforcement: Head downtown and take a walk through history as you learn about how organized crime has played a role in our lives both in Las Vegas and around the country. Artifacts from key players in history are on display and this dynamic exhibit will interest even the casual history buff.
Open Daily: Sundays – Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Fridays & Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Mac King Comedy Show at Harrah’s Las Vegas: You might otherwise skip this show if you didn’t know better. It would appear that this guy in the bad suit has somehow stuck around doing a bunch of “old Vegas” tricks in a showroom in the middle of the day and nobody has thought about asking him to stop. It would seem that way until you did more than look at the ads around town for Mac King. Step into the showroom and you’ll see the best show, dollar for dollar, on the Las Vegas strip. Comedy, magic and a real performer that will delight everyone in the crowd even the little people.

If those three options don’t work you can consider Minus 5 Ice bar at Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay, or try window shopping at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace and The Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian or just make it a spa day and get a salt scrub at Encore Spa or Aria Spa.
