Rí Rá Attempts To Break Guinness Concert World Record

It’s time to get your Guinness beer drinking on at Rí Rá Irish Pub as they attempt to break a Guinness World Record for hosting 16 days of live music 24 hours each and every day.

At exactly 1 p.m. on October 1, several bands of a variety of musical styles will be playing their hearts out back-to-back, as they only take 25-second breaks between songs and five minutes between sets.

The idea was spurred and is being led by Dublin-born Dave Browne who also holds a Guinness World Record for playing guitar for 114 hours and six minutes straight. We’re not quite sure how he managed that with bathroom breaks, but we don’t really want to know that detail anyway.

The event is also in part to help raise money for the Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen with 20 percent of food proceeds during the 16-day event going toward the organization.

Bands that will be a part of the event include the likes of The American Diddley Idols, Sharon O’Brien, Dave Raferty , Little People and many more.
