Summer Vacation Travel Checklist – Picking a Las Vegas Show

It is almost that time of the year when you head to Las Vegas for a few days of fun in the sun and long nights doing those things that we don’t talk about once we cross the state line. This is the quick checklist to help you come up with the best plan of action for your Las Vegas summer vacation.

Find Some Las Vegas Entertainment
If you spend anytime on the Las Vegas strip you’ll see the ads for so many shows that you’ll be confused and frustrated with trying to make the right choice with your summer vacation dollar. Depending on what you consider entertaining you can get a cheap comedy act or an expensive production show in before a night at the Las Vegas clubs. Since I have seen each and every show on the strip I’ll share with you just exactly what I think should be on your radar this summer.

See a Show in Las Vegas This Summer

  • Absinthe at Caesars Palace – This show never gets old for me and as it ferments and gets better with age I still think it is a top five show on the Las Vegas strip. You’ll enjoy the intimate theater and the variety of acts. Most of all you’ll be pleased that the humor is every bit as raunchy and fun as Las Vegas deserves it to be. This is the adult show that you expect from Las Vegas.
  • Vegas Nocturne at Rose.Rabbit.Lie. – This is where Las Vegas entertainment is headed and if you spend enough time at Rose.Rabbit.Lie. you’ll soon discover that the showroom is great to see the organized acts but the real action takes place everywhere else in this multi function theater/restaurant/bar/lounge. That is not to say that you should not sit down to watch the show, all I am saying is that you are not there just to walk into a showroom. Roam freely through out the space and you’ll fall in love.
  • Mac King at Harrah’s – If you get to Las Vegas and don’t see Mac King there has to be something wrong with you. The chow is probably the best bargain in Las Vegas and if I have to choose the top 3 shows on the strip 9 times out of 10, I will mention Mac King. Yes, it is kid friendly but that does not mean that adults cannot have just as much fun watching one of the best performers in Las Vegas.
  • Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay – With so many Cirque du Soleil shows on the strip it can be difficult to make a decision. LOVE at Mirage is amazing. “O” at Bellagio is impossible to beat and if you have never seen a Cirque show you’ll enjoy Zarkana at ARIA. Right now, for the money, ONE is the show that will move you, it will infect you with a beat from music that you are familiar with even if you didn’t know you were. It is not just about Michael Jackson, it is about a feeling of hope, emotion and happiness.

Too many choices for Las Vegas shows? Don’t forget to consider Terry Fator, Blue Man Group, Jersey Boys or Penn and Teller.
