The Experience
This is where beer lovers fantasize about the ultimate conquest. This is where a beer guy would get married. It’s where a beer girl would have her bachelorette party. This is where the beer list is long, deep and complicated. The Pub at Monte Carlo is the spot where you hope the game goes in to overtime because you need to have at least 2 more shots at drinking your way through a 300 beer list.

Let’s just say you only have one night in Las Vegas. You want to have fun but you don’t want to waste any time. You want to hit the hot spots but you do not have the luxury of hoping that a place is right for you. That is why you and I are hooking up. I know Las Vegas and you want to have fun. I drink, eat and spend far too much time talking to strangers so that you do not have to worry about a single thing when you decide to let loose for one night in Las Vegas. That night is tonight, so let's do this.

The Experience
The best way to get a feel for Nine Fine Irishmen is to go in as the band is playng and people are raising their pints in a toast to pretty much anything. Grab your own pint and you’ll find yourself toasting the weather, the band or even just the fact that you are on vacation. The music can be loud but the atmosphere is festive. You might eat but you definitely have to have a drink and then think about memorizing one of the drinking anthems.

If you travel to Las Vegas with the kids you’ll have to eat so why not find a few spots that don’t break the bank and force you to play the penny slots, right? Oh, you like the penny slots? That is a different topic that we can discuss at a later date.

Here are a few of my choices for places that work for family meals and they have been battle tested by my two children who eat way too much than my wallet would prefer.

Quite honestly this is the type of restaurant you really only visit when you are on vacation. The formula is quite simple. Serve food in decent sized portions. Serve some stiff drinks. Offer a simple beer list. Insult everyone and make sure that every single person knows that they have walked into a party that was put together by a group of pranksters.

This week in Las Vegas, May 9 - 12, 2013, you can go off your diet and indulge in one too many cocktails because the food extravaganza also known as Uncork'd will be happening and you will definitely need to treat yourself. This is a four day event that includes some serious eating and plenty of opportunities to engage your inner foodie in some decadence and food education. Pace yourself because four days of heavy lifting at the dinner table can definitely take their toll.

Many of the most successful people in the world will tell you: A problem is just an opportunity in disguise. And apparently, Las Vegas had a problem. The problem, I’m told, was that women didn’t feel comfortable in our Sports Books.

Well, The One Group, operators of STK at the Cosmopolitan (pretty much the most ‘happening’ restaurant on the Strip) saw that as an opportunity. And so we have Heraea at Palms.

The Experience
This is the 24 hour hotel café that has been taken to another level. You’ll soon find out that regardless of what time you are having a meal you can probably expect more than your typical coffee shop menu. This is comfort food that is getting you to an even more comfortable level. Leave your dietary restrictions at home because you’ll walk in to Citizens for a convenient meal and walk out stuffed. The portions are ample and you’ll be surprised but what they are doing.
