The Best Oktoberfest Celebrations Happen in Sin City

Munich and Vegas could be distant cousins, so it’s no surprise that Sin City has always been primed and ready to celebrate Oktoberfest like nobody’s business (except maybe Germany's). Ready to raise your pint? Here’s where Vegas is tapping kegs, eating schnitzel, and donning lederhosen. Hofbrauhaus hofbrauhaus There's no getting around putting Hofbrauhaus as the Number 1 spot to celebrate Oktoberfest. Their whole year pivots around Oktoberfest and for a good reason - they do it the best. Nowhere else will feel more like a traditional German beer tent, and we mean one of the big ones. Reverberating alpine horns, paddled tushes, and clinking beer mugs are omnipresent in the beer hall (or "schwemme") all month long, made better by lovely ladies bringing plates of sausages and customary German cuisine to help digest all those beer bongs you're downing. Hit up Hofbrauhaus on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 PM to witness celebrities perform keg tappings through October 31 and check their calendar for more fun. Bier Garten Bier Garten The Oktoberfest party continues over at Bier Garten inside the Plaza Hotel & Casino. The venue opened just this past year and has already made itself a nice home for beer lovers in the city. Their outdoor drinking area is beautiful this time of year now that the weather is cooling down, so don't miss out on grabbing your pint at this little gem and treating yourself to one of their many versions of wursts and pretzels while you're drinking. Golden Nugget Fall Beer Fest golden nugget beer fest 2014 The Golden Nugget will host its Fifth Annual Beer Fest October 10-11 this year with two different events. First, taste over 125 craft beers from 30 breweries at the All American Craft Beer Tasting on the 10 for $55 with appetizers and live music galore. Then on Saturday, check out their Oktoberfest Pool Party because what could possibly better represent the hybrid of Germany and Las Vegas? Another 150 different beers will be available for tasting at the Tank Pool along with more music and food. The best part is the Saturday event is FREE to attend, you just have to purchase food & drink tickets. Public House Public House VegasBeer, beer, and more beer. (What else did you think this article would be about?) Public House, voted Best Gastropub in Las Vegas, will be offering The Lebensmittel und Bier pairing menu through Friday, October 5, with offerings of fresh baked pretzels with a trio of sauces and beer brats paired with craft brews such as Firestone Oaktoberfest, Ballast Point Oktoberfest and Ayinger Oktoberfest, over 200 premium lagers, pales, IPAs and stouts, as well as 24 taps flowing with lagers, pilsners and cask beers. Big Dog's Brew House Dogtober Beer Fest Big Dog's Dogtober It's all happening at Big Dog's Draft House this month, bringing so many things I love into one amazing event: Beers of all sorts, Wisconsin-style brats, FREE admission, live music, raffles to be won, and puppies! Big Dog's Brewing Company has partnered with The Animal Foundation of Las Vegas to donate $1 from each pour of their Oktoberfest Beer to their foundation, and attendees who donate a new leash or dog toy at the event get 5 extra tokens to enjoy the festival's offerings. Celebrating Oktoberfest, potentially winning prizes, and definitely helping dogs in need? Count us in!
