The Insider: Labor Day Weekend in Las Vegas Part I

With temperatures hovering around 100 degrees for one of the wildest weekends in Las Vegas history, the entertainment at the daytime parties during Labor Day Weekend will need to be just as hot to attract the crowds. With a lineup of some of the industry’s biggest names you can be sure that LDW 2012 in Las Vegas will be packed with excitement.

Here is your ultimate daylife guide to Labor Day Weekend.

Friday, Aug. 31

  • The weekend always gets started at Palms Casino Resort with Ditch Fridays and this weekend’s headlining act is rapper Wiz Khalifa. The Pittsburgh native will perform some of his top hits like “Black and Yellow” and “Young Wild and Free,” poolside.

 

  • French house DJ Cedric Gervais starts the party off at Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, which overlooks the Strip and features private plunge pools for VIP guests.

 

  • English producer Gareth Emery kicks the party off at Tao Beach at The Venetian Las Vegas where the top-rated DJ will bring his electronic beats to the outdoor party that packs the same punch as the nighttime locale.

 

  • The Dutch dance duo Bingo Players comes to Encore Beach Club at Encore Las Vegas along with Nervo where they will spin house beats at the lavish $100 million pool club.

 

Saturday, Sept. 1

  • Party Rock comes to Tao Beach with Redfoo taking over the turntables.  As one half of the duo LMFAO, Redfoo has shown that his shuffle isn’t limited to just the dance floor.

 

 

  • International DJ Roger Sanchez spins house beats at Palms Casino Resort pool.

 

  • George Garcia, who will spin at Bare at the Mirage, was once a promising soccer player, but now he focuses his energy behind the turntables where he was quickly rose to fame.

 

  • Swedish DJ Avicii has become a jetsetter as he blazed a quick path to becoming one of the world’s top DJs and you can find out why when he brings his EDM beats to Marquee Dayclub.

 

  • Steve Angello, who will spin at Encore Beach Club, cut his teeth as a member of Swedish House Mafia but has since found his own fame as a solo DJ.

 

Sunday, Sept. 2

  • The other half of LMFAO, SkyBlu, takes the reigns over at Wet Republic.

 

  • Grammy Award-winning singer Ne-Yo brings his smash hits such as “Miss Independent” and “Sexy Love,” to the quaint oasis of Bare at the Mirage.

 

  • David Guetta built an international following before coming stateside in recent years, now the DJ and producer can be seen spinning electronic dance beats at Encore Beach Club for a party straight out of Ibiza.

 

  • Kaskade has spun some of the most memorable daytime parties in Las Vegas and the American DJ returns to Marquee Dayclub to close down the holiday weekend celebration.

 

  • Sex Panther returns to the Palms Pool where the Southern California-based duo has built a steady following thanks to a wild summer residency.

 

  • Italian DJ Benny Benassi shuts down Tao Beach with his tech house music beats.

 

Monday, Sept. 3

  • A Deadmau5 performance is always a memorable one, but a poolside daytime performance is one for the history books. The mouse head-wearing DJ usually depends on an array of lights to liven up his performances but with the backdrop of Encore Beach Club and a few tricks up his sleeves, you can rest assured that Deadmau5 will put on another legendary show.

 

  • Wet Republic welcomes Las Vegas mainstay Laidback Luke for a set to remember.

 

  • The English trance group Above & Beyond returns to Marquee Dayclub to close out LDW.

 

  • Paul Oakenfold started the EDM craze in Las Vegas so it’s only fitting that the legendary English DJ and producer shuts down the biggest weekend at the biggest party: Rehab at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas.
