Travel Through A Lens: AMA Supercross Grand Finale in Las Vegas

On Saturday, May 5 the top Supercross and Supercross Lites riders descend on Las Vegas for the final round of Monster Energy Supercross. Superstars like James Stewart, Chad Reed, Ryan Dungey and Ryan Villopoto make the yearly trek to the desert in pursuit of victory.

With 16 of 17 rounds of the 2012 AMA Supercross Series in the books, this is the final run of the season and it all takes place at Sam Boyd Stadium, the home of UNLV Rebels Football.  Three champions have already crowned but the drama and excitement is ongoing as the best racers in the world square off one last time before heading to the outdoor national series for the summer.  As for the track itself, the Las Vegas one is a super fast speedway of a course with huge hits and great racing. Add to that the extra length which comes by way of trimming the track out into the parking lot and there will have plenty to cheer about.

Practice, qualifying and open pits begin at 12:30pm and are free to attend with your event ticket. The pit party features thrill acts, main stage activities, live bands, vendor booths and other activities.

Opening ceremonies and the races kick-start at 7 p.m.

For tickets you can visit www.UNLVtickets.com.

If you don’t feel like driving out to the stadium (it’s a good distance from the Las Vegas Strip), shuttle service is available for $10 each way and tickets can be purchased in the bus loading area at the Hard Rock Hotel on race day between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.  Please note the shuttle bus ticket is not a ticket to the event - this ticket is only for ground transportation. Each ticket is good for a one-way trip.  If you want a round trip you will need to purchase two (2) tickets.  Shuttles will run continuously from 12:00pm - 12:00am.
