When Is Pool Season In Las Vegas

Every year at this time this question is asked of me. Is it pool season yet? Well, contrary to popular belief it is not always pool season in Las Vegas. In fact some months are just wicked cold and your best bet is to sit in a comfortable lounge sipping on a fabulous cocktail. The pools start opening in early March and usually stay open until mid-October. Some hotels have heated pools that are open year round but the truth is getting out of heated water into bone chilling temperatures is not my idea of fun (go ahead insert the joke about how we don’t know cold because you are coming in from the north). Assuming the pool parties are open you might have a few questions as to where you should strip down to your designer suit and bask in the sun. You have plenty of options for day clubs and pool parties.

Pool Party
Each of these pools offer you a supply of loud music and plenty of pretty people looking for the day club experience that is really a transformation of the nightclubs with less clothing on and  pool water. Expect DJ’s and cocktails as well as pools so packed with people you will be challenged to get in your 10 laps before lunch.

  • Encore Beach Club
  • Wet Republic
  • Marquee Day Pool
  • Daylight Beach Club
  • Azure

Hotel Pool
If you need a regular hotel pool to spend some time in the sun those are in abundance on The Strip as well. Most pools are only open to hotel guests so you might have to get creative if you plan on visiting a pool of a hotel you are not staying. These are some of my favorites:

  • Mandalay Beach at Mandalay Bay
  • Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace
  • The Pool at Cosmopolitan
  • Aria Pool
  • Palazzo Pool

Each of these pools has options for cabanas and daybed rentals.

Family Friendly Pools
Yes, you might decide to grab the kids and head to Las Vegas and you know you really don’t want your kids mixing it up with the party crowd in the shallow end of the pool. Nobody wants that. These are your best bets for family friendly pools:

  • Monte Carlo Pool
  • Flamingo Family Pool
  • MGM Grand Pool

Each of these pools has areas that are more kid friendly with the Flamingo actually having a separate pool for families.
