Where To Eat Today in Las Vegas

I wake up hungry and I go to bed hungry. It is how I am wired so it’s not surprise to me when I wake up and think I need to tell you about some of my favorite spots that need to be visited as soon as possible. Remember, I have eaten at each and every spot on the strip so when I have a craving it is coming from a well researched palate and a slightly overweight expert in eating.

These are the spots you should visit along with what you should eat:

Citizens at Mandalay Bay: Banana Pancakes:
“I have to tell you about the banana macadamia nut pancakes because they are the reason you’ll go there for breakfast. They are just a small step below the pancakes at the Gazebo in Napili Bay in West Maui. Yes, that is a bold statement but they are getting the cream correct. The sandwiches are good but huge and you have to order the loaded potato simply because butter and potatoes are beautiful. Other breakfast items you should try include the corned beef hash skillet and the sausage and biscuits.”

Gordon Ramsay Burger: The Fresh Roasted Chili Dawg
“The hot dog you’ll be ordering and telling people about is the Fresh Roasted Chili Dawg that consists of a beef snap-dog that is simmered in a hellfire sauce that adds quite a bit of flavor and then placed in a freshly baked bun that is cut over the top. They drop in some jalapenos, roasted Fresno peppers, avocado, red onion and chipotle ketchup to create an explosion of flavors. It’s a pretty good sized hot dog so plan on splitting it or grab a plastic bag to save some for later. This most likely is the best hot dog in Las Vegas. It’s outrageous. The bread is freshly baked and the crunch in that wiener is intoxicating. Every now and then you need that simple meal that does not requite much from you. This is that meal. Sit down, order a beer and a dog and you ‘ll be blown away.

Javier’s at Aria: The Taco Platter
“If you are with a group of people or even just two other people get the taco platter and share. You make your own tacos and the pork, chicken or beef that come on this platter is more than enough for three. If you are a germ freak and don’t like people to touch your food have the Camarones Rancheros and you’ll be in shrimp heaven. The garlic and the spice really does make everything nice. Also, start with the Octopus ceviche and a margarita.”

Poutine. Public house at Venetian or Gordon Ramsay Pub and Grill
“If you are sitting at the bar try the pub menu order the Scotch Egg and Duck Confit Poutine. You can ‘t go work with beer sausage and duck gravy. If you can share with someone try the short rib sandwich or the fish and chips. If you are in the restaurant try the braised pork belly and the Pub “spots’ (sliders). The best time to stop in might be lunch as it is a little easier to get a table. Banger’s and Mash or some Shepherd’s pie. Things have really improved at Ramsay Pub so het in and have a few beers with some pretty good pub fare.”

So, those are a few ideas. I’m also really craving a dry aged steak from Carnevino at Palazzo, The meat loaf at Spago, drinks and something that Chef Brian Howard is putting together at Comme Ca at Cosmopolitan and some of the magic that two Hawaiian Chefs, Roy Ellamar at Sensi and John Witte at Center Cut at Flamingo are trying.

Yes, I do eat too much but I do it in order to help you find the perfect Las Vegas experience.
