Winning At The Wynn

Steve Wynn is undoubtedly sitting pretty on top of any list called something like "Most Influential Forces to Shape Las Vegas," so you can bet his namesake hotel is going to be one of the best on the Strip. A known perfectionist and visionary, Wynn was the man to bring the existence of "mega-resorts" to the country when he opened The Mirage in 1989. Since then, his guiding hand has helped make the city the heaven we know and love today.

XS Nightclub

It is very hard to pick just one nightlife experience to represent all the fun nights that Wynn is offering, but if it has to be done, if my life depended on it, then it's going to be XS Nightclub. The expansive space and freshly renovated sound system is enough to make any DJ crave dropping a beat, let alone make thousands of people flock to XS's doors like Gatsby's gate. Plush VIP booths and tables are the prime real estate to grab for an epic night out, but you'll truly have fun just meandering from bar to bar and through the dance floor. The headlining DJs that spin here are a force to be reckoned with; David Guetta, Zedd, Kaskade, and more on the upcoming roster. Surrender, Tryst and Encore Beach Club are all solid options and there's not really a bad choice when you want to party all night at Wynn. Hell, might as well make a club crawl out of it!

Wynn Golf & Country Club

It's got to be truly amazing for me, a non-golfer, to put golf on the list of top things at Wynn to try out, but regardless if you're an avid golf cart driver like me, or you put the back 9 to shame like a regular Phil Mickelson (see, I know some golf things) then hit up Wynn's golf course. Wynn's is an 18 hole, Par 70 course spreading over 7,042 yards of challenging, yet beautiful, terrain. In pure posh style that one can easily become accustomed to at Wynn, complimentary Callaway golf clubs and Foot Joy shoes are provided if you've left your gear at home as well as professional caddies and on-course refreshments at your leisure. After you've sufficiently whacked the little white ball with your big metal stick into that impossibly far away hole, you deserve drinks and food up at the Country Club. It should be noted that you can enjoy meals at the Country Club without golf reservations, but they just seem to go so well together. One of the best brunches in the city, check out Jazz Brunch from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m on Sundays for a serious foodie spread and amazing ambiance with live music and the glorious course set before you as you enjoy your meal.

Shopping (And/Or Window Shopping)

Dior

There's nothing like imagining yourself slinking down to dinner in that uber-glamorous Alexander McQueen gown in that window there, or planning your Swarovski crystal kitchen backsplash for your next mansion after picking up your new Chanel sunglasses. The shops inside Wynn and Encore are undeniably couture, indisputably gorgeous and most certainly expensive. Wynn Esplanade, as it's called, offers sparkling hallways of these designer goods as well as Nevada's only factory-authorized Ferrari dealership in the Penske/Wynn Ferrari-Maserati showroom. After picking up your new car, swing by any of your favorite shops like Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik, Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, Dior, Rolex, Cartier, Hermes and more. If wandering through this real-life Vogue magazine sounds like too much work to muster on your own, you can hire a personal shopper through the hotel. First world problems at their finest.

Andrea's

Andrea's

I'll admit that I was confused that with an almost Italian-sounding name, this restaurant had a menu with Asian fusion items, but for me that's a happy surprise. Andrea's is one of the city's best hotspots to grab dinner and drinks before going out for the night, so you won't be alone when you're seated next to everyone else who's wearing their bodycon dresses and nightlife suits. Upon my last visit with a group of club-goers, the waitress made note of my casual mention of a mango allergy and not one, but two chefs made a table touch to ensure I had no mango near my plate or any of the cutlery that assembled it. Now that's good service, even if embarrassing my bizarre allergy. Voted as one of the country's hottest dining spots in the country from OpenTable's Diners' Choice Awards, you'll enjoy menu items like Wagyu beef and lobster roll, NY Strip Steak with wasabi demi glacé and five spice garlic lobster, plus sushi for days. Plus, I never pass up an opportunity for miso eggplant, which Andrea's rocks.
