2015: The Year of Adrenaline

Usually around this time of year, everyone's all "Ooh, Imma get so fit in 2015!" and "Time to get that Holiday weight off, tee hee!" and you're being beaten over the head with fitness products, gym membership ads and unsolicited dietary advice. Who wants anything to do with that? Instead, resolve to live your life more fully and take it to the limit. Get that heart pounding in other ways that only Las Vegas can supply! We're dubbing 2015 "The Year of Adrenaline" for any of you daredevils that wish to join us, because there are simply too many exciting things to do in this city that can't be ignored.

Jump Out of A Perfectly Good Plane

skydive las vegas_1

We love the wide, open skies of Nevada for a good skydiving experience! Whether you've never had the guts to actually skydive, or if you're an accomplished jumper who doesn't think twice about thrusting your body into the stratosphere, we're here to hold your hand and high five your accomplishments when you do it this year. Our friends over at Skydive Las Vegas are the go-to skydiving company and have been doing this for over 22 years. You have nothing to fear, just do it ya big chicken. Yes, there's a version of skydiving closer to your precious ground, but we're talking about the real deal this year - it's our resolution together! Live a little and wear this parachute.

Put The Pedal to the Metal

VORE Challenge

Vroom, vroom, daredevils! Prefer to get your adrenaline spikes from some good old fashioned mechanic energy? Then hop behind the drivers seat of the plethora of gasoline-powered activities available in Nevada's wild outdoors. There are some pretty hot wheels available for rent when you're here, but your best bet to hit the top of the speedometer will be at The Dream Racing Experience or the Power Package from Exotics Racing. These two options will let you drive some seriously sexy roadsters with a boatload of horsepower around real-life racetracks and help you track your lap times to add some extra competition among your friends and loved ones. A good option to settle some scores, if you ask me. We're talking Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Audi R8's, Nissan GT-R's and other non-street legal wheels you'd regret missing out on driving when you're on your deathbed. If you're looking for speed but don't mind getting a little down and dirty, then you might as well head deeper into the desert for the VORE Challenge, the Mini Vegas Baja Chase or some Rock Crawling in a Jeep. Your heart will be pumping as you leave behind dust clouds that are more than just special effects in an action movie - this is your life in 2015!

Ready, Aim - FIRE!

Machine Gun Vegas

All politics aside, shooting guns can be really fun. Welcome to the Wild West, friends, where Las Vegas has made heavy artillery a viable, safe, and super-fun entertainment option for the adrenaline junkie on vacation. Hitting up one of the gun ranges in our city is perfect for bachelor and bachelorette parties alike, or just as a fun excursion add-on to any kind of vacation you're looking to have. The largest gun range in Vegas is The Range 702, where you can feel the full power of a Belt Fed RPD and choose from nine packages, including the Zombie Apocalypse package. Ladies, you might really enjoy hitting up Machine Guns Vegas, where they feature a Femme Fatale package as well as a lounge for some drinks afterwards. Everyone loves the fully automatic shotgun available here, too, so don't forget that. If you want to shoot at a range with some history, then try the Strip Gun Club, which was the first (and only) gun range on the Las Vegas Strip. We recommend the Royal Flush package that lets you shoot six guns, including the Kriss Vector 45ACP and the FN SPR sniper rifle (just nod in agreement as if you understood all that like I did). If the thought of real guns is a bit too much to wrap your brain around, and you'd much rather peg your own friends with your accuracy skills, then maybe Vegas Xtreme Paintball field is more your speed. Lock 'n Load!

Climb and Reach for the Stars

Fear of heights? Let's overcome it in 2015. This year is a great time to set a goal for yourself and you'll feel so accomplished after reaching the ultimate precipice, the height of your journey, the apex of grabbing life by the cojones and actively choosing what you want to do! Alright, enough inspiration, let's harness up and repel down some cliffs - what do you say? Nevada's gorgeous natural formations are a rock climber's paradise and it's varying landscapes lend many different terrains to help beginners get their start as well as challenge any experienced climber. Red Rock Canyon is extremely close to central Las Vegas, just a short 20-minute drive, and offers a ton of routes where you can hike and climb around. If you're a professional climber toting serious gear and rigs, you'll want to consult the climbing community's recommendations on what to bring and specific climbing spots. If you're a newbie and still willing to gear up to see nature from above, allow the folks at Flightlinez to hook you up and let you soar through 156 miles of zipline adventure.

Up, Up & Here We Go

Sky-Combat-Ace---Aerial-Dog-Fighting---A2G-60

Come fly with us, let's fly - let's fly away! What? We're in Vegas. We're obligated to quote Frank Sinatra when the opportunity presents itself. If you want to go ahead and straight-up pull a Top Gun move and show that cockpit what's up, then we've got the excursion for you. Nothing will get your heart pumping quite like a day spent at Sky Combat Ace. Pack on some extra G-Forces with the Afterburner Experience and you'll be treated to an aerobatics lesson you'll never forget. You choose either an award-winning aerobatic plane or a classic open cockpit biplane and then enjoy (screaming the entire time) a 25-minute flight with the pilot showing you rolls, stalls and then hands the reigns over to you for some tail slides and tumbles. Not a bad way to earn your wings, Ace. Or shall we call you Iceman? If you'd still like to see Vegas from above, but don't want to sign on for all the extra tumbles and G-forces added on, you should look into the Sunrise Balloon Flight. A much more peaceful experience that is almost hard to include in an adrenaline-themed collection like this, but hey - who are we to say what gets your heart pumping? As long as you're constantly pushing yourself and making ever year count, we salute you, dear reader.
