New Clubs ‘Life’ & ‘Foxtail’ Open Soon With SLS in Vegas

In less than a month, one of the swankiest new hotels is opening on the Strip and with it comes a few new sexy additions to the Las Vegas daylife and nightlife scene. Here's what you need to know about the soon-to-be 24/7 party powerhouse.

SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is the new or, rather, the newly revamped kid on the block and we can’t wait for it to open this August. Located on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue – the former site of Sahara Hotel and Casino – SLS is a $400-plus-million-dollar remodel of the legendary hotel that was frequented by The Beatles and Frank Sinatra’s crew.

The entire idea behind the hotel’s modernization is to create a juxtaposition of 1960s Las Vegas glitz and glam with the luxuries of today’s technology, fashion and prestige. You’ll find a playful sophistication infused with a vintage and classically inspired ambiance of the Rat Pack. Hoping to ‘rekindle Vegas’ iconic past’ SLS, an SBE company, is bringing some exciting new concepts to the day and nightlife scene.

LiFE Nightclub
LiFE, which is slated to be the largest nightclub onsite, is a 20,000-square-foot, multi-level venue featuring three bars, 70 VIP table options, an LED wall, Funktion-One sound system and, in true Vegas fashion, aerialists swinging and ziplining from the 60-foot-tall ceilings. The thought behind LiFE, however, is not to add to the Vegas nightlife scene, but rather to rebel against it and the status quo. According to SLS, “it’s about fostering a movement that rebels against the one-dimensional norm that has come to define nightlife.”

Beach LiFE
Located above LiFE Nightclub, this 10,000-square-foot dayclub is on the rooftop of SLS and is an adult-only pool party venue. While the hours aren’t available yet and considering pool season in Vegas usually closes at the start of fall, Beach LiFE will open in the spring of next year. This ‘open-air rooftop pool’ will be open at day and night, with a spiraling staircase (and elevators) connecting it to the nightclub below.  There will be a substantial and centrally located VIP Cabana, but other smaller cabanas and daybeds will also be available.

Foxtail Nightclub & Lounge
This provocative, upscale lounge combines art, fashion and nightlife into a sophisticated 8,000-square-foot venue. Featuring artwork from French calligrapher Tarek Benaoum, Foxtail’s interior is ‘painted’ with sophisticated street-style ‘graffiti,’ but a more refined version of the art genre.  There are 28 VIP tables beneath extravagantly-designed chandeliers in this open-air space that is seductive as much as it is fun. The venue also features blackjack tables, two bars and makes note of ‘celebrity appearances’ to come.

Foxtail Pool Club
This pool club, not scheduled to open until spring 2015, is connected to the Foxtail nightclub and will offer nighttime entertainment as well. Thirty one daybeds and 26 cabanas, as well as additional seating, make for a comfortable way to cool down during the summer months. With alluring cuisine and specialty cocktails on the menu, this dayclub is likely to play host to a new generation of global travelers looking to step up their Vegas party game.

The Sayers Club
Inspired by the Los Angeles live music venue with the same name, The Sayers Club will similarly feature musical stylings of bright and emerging artists serving up beats with a side of good, ole’ fashioned rock ‘n’ roll. The interior of this intimate venue is edgy and industrial with oversized leather couches and a patio with views of The Strip. Pull out your leather pants and skull tees as this will be the new lounge to get in your live-music fix.

Center Bar
Every hotel needs a casino bar, but not every hotel will have one quite like this. Open 24 hours a day, the Center Bar – named for its center location on the casino floor – will have the average Joe menu of libations, but a spiced up menu of specialty-crafted cocktails will also be on the roster.  So start your night off right or end it with the best nightcap menu in town.

Monkey Bar
Deemed the SLS’s ‘lobby bar,’ it is boasted as a great place to drink a cocktail while watching as patrons of all walks of life pass through the doors of the hotel. Hours are limited from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., although that’s pretty decent for a lobby bar.
