Summer Vacation Travel Checklist – Picking the Right Las Vegas Restaurant

It is almost that time of the year when you head to Las Vegas for a few days of fun in the sun and long nights doing those things that we don’t talk about once we cross the state line. This is the quick checklist to help you come up with the best plan of action for your Las Vegas summer vacation.

The vacation budget is fickle. It wants to be spent on the fun things like shows and attractions but it always gets eaten away by the need for calories. Our bodies can go without entertainment but they need food and drink. We are slaves to the functions of our very own existence. So if you must eat, well, you might as well eat well. However, you don’t have to go crazy with expensive food; you can find some quality for a relatively good price on the Las Vegas strip. Before you celebrate you must realize that affordable on the Las Vegas strip often seems expensive relative to where you come from.

Eating in Las Vegas

  • Sushi at Nobu – Sit in the lounge, have a cocktail and a few small plates and you can get the Nobu experience without completely altering your budget. It’s not cheap but it is a worthy Las Vegas experience. If you want the fresh fish and a memorable dining experience this could be your one fancy dinner while you are on a Las Vegas vacation.
  • A Burger with Gordon Ramsay – Split a burger or have the hot dog at Gordon Ramsay BurGR and you get a “Vegasy” restaurant and a decent meal. The prices are reasonable and splitting something should be an option in order to help you cut down the cost as well as enable you to order that second Innis and Gunn beer.
  • Meatloaf at Spago – This is the perfect Vegas meal as it is at an iconic restaurant. Sit in the café and you get Wolfgang Puck cuisine and the best people watching in Las Vegas. The port wine sauce over the meat loaf is delightfully balanced with a pancetta wrapped meat loaf over the top of some mashed potatoes. A glass of wine is a must.
  • The Steakhouse in Vegas – It will be tough to go cheap at a steakhouse in Las Vegas but if you need to fill your summer getaway with some beef I will suggest my top three. Carnevino gets you the best beef possible on the Las Vegas strip. STK Vegas gets you the best party atmosphere with your filet and Stripsteak allows you to taste what butter can do for a rib-eye.
