The Bunkhouse Saloon Reopens With An Epic Lineup of Live Music

It’s back from the dead figuratively... and literally...? Either way, it's back! That’s right, the infamous Bunkhouse Saloon in Downtown Las Vegas is reopening on August 25 with a performance by Built To Spill. The venue, which initially opened in 1953, has a lengthy history as an epic live music venue with an awesome dive-bar ambiance.

It’s all part of the Las Vegas Downtown Project, which is a movement to revitalize the downtown area including establishing businesses beyond the currently defined Fremont East area.

The bar was purchased and then closed for remodeling in 2013. During the remodeling, a new sound system and new kitchen were implemented to bring a fresh face to this old friend. In addition to the Bunkhouse already having a hefty lineup of bands slated to play, they will also serve new grub on the menu with creations from Robert Henderson, who previously worked at Herbs & Rye and Stack. The menu features an amazing culinary twist on the average bar food. Items include Sloppy Joe (including a veggie version), Deviled Eggs, Salads and sandwiches like a Short Rib, Glazed Turkey and Bunkhouse BLT.

While there will be a full bar, only three beers are on tap and then there is a wide selection of 12 oz, 16 oz and 24 oz cans of beers such as Big Sky Moose Drool, Schlitz Malt Liqour, and DieselPunk Porter.

From what we know, the Bunkhouse will not have any gaming machines inside so slot and video poker players will have to find a different place to feed their gambling habit. The bar will also be smoke-free on the inside.

Back in the day, legendary bands played this bar including The Killers and Imagine Dragons. Today, you can still see some pretty high caliber shows, for a fraction of the cost versus other venues in town. Check out the upcoming lineup below:
