The Down Low on This Year’s Life is Beautiful Festival

Creators of the Life is Beautiful Festival in Downtown Las Vegas have announced this year's art, music and food lineup for the now three-day cultural event in its second year of operation.

The festival is slated for Friday, October 24 through Sunday, October 26, “featuring nearly 70 chart-topping acts, dozens of culinary giants, and world-renowned speakers.” The event was created last year as a way to bring growth and further attention to Downtown Vegas as well as the local arts community that is progressively expanding.

“Life is Beautiful is about inspiring people,” said founder Rhan Choudhry of the festival in a released statement. “It’s about offering messages of hope and encouragement through a unique experience.

The Kickoff Event
Start the weekend off right with the Grills & Guitars kickoff party on Thursday, October 23 at 7 p.m. at Gold Spike Hotel & Casino. This event is not included in the actual festival’s ticket price, but it will be well worth it with an abundance of gourmet food stations from celebrity chefs. Additionally, patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy specially paired beer, wine and cocktails with their cuisine while listening to music.

The Food
The event has once again brought back the Culinary Village experience. Created by an advisory board of world-class chefs, the village allows local Las Vegas restaurants to curate specialty cuisine offerings and pair them with libations ranging from wine to handcrafted cocktails. Patrons can also check out Chefs On Stage, which allows folks to get up-close-and-personal with celebrity chefs who explain their techniques. Come see Giada De Laurentiis and the Bromberg Brothers from Brooklyn Bowl’s Blue Ribbon as well as a lengthy list of other top-notch chefs and restaurateurs.

The Music
A huge draw to the festival is the amazing lineup of musicians and, in its sophomore year, the lineup is simply incredible. With names like Kayne West, Foo Fighters, Skrillex, and Fitz & The Tantrums, there will be something for everyone. Get the full list of performers here.

The Art
Life is Beautiful festival art is central to the overall experience. This year, the idea behind the art concept is to offer a number of  “urban-inspired immersive experiences for a new generation of art and entertainment enthusiasts.” This means there will be street installations of art placed dynamically in Downtown coupled with murals, performance art and other various displays of fine art.

The Speakers
Life is Beautiful is all about inspiring people to cultivate their passions, help their community and bring people together. This year, festival creators are offering the Learning is Beautiful speaker series, which allows attendees to “enjoy poignant talks by critically acclaimed speakers.” The list of speakers isn’t released yet, but watch for it here soon.
