The Insider: Top 5 Beer Lists in Las Vegas

Homer Simpson once said, “Homer no function beer well without.” We have to agree. With football season in full swing, nothing goes better with pigskin action than beer, whether a lager, ale, stout, pilsner or bock. Here’s a look at the top five beer lists in Las Vegas. In the words of Homer, “Bart, a woman is like beer. They look good, they smell good and you'd step over your own mother just to get one!” Indeed.

The Pub at Monte Carlo

How many beers do you need on tap? How does 70 sound. The Pub at Monte Carlo serves up burgers and big-screen TVs to help that beer go down. You can serve yourself at the table with the Draft Master dispense system. Look for a variety of domestics, international drafts and microbrews, along with the new High Roller Red Beer created by local brewery Joseph James Brewing Co. in Henderson. The Pub has a handful of kegs available in-house and Joseph James Brewing Co. is currently developing a larger batch.

Burger Bar

You already know that burgers and beer make a great combination. Put them together with flair at Hubert Keller’s Burger Bar at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place. The restaurant where you can build your own gourmet burger features more than 120 bottles from around the world. The menu is organized by country and features the brews’ alcohol-content on the menu. Look for treats such as Delirium Tremens from Belgium and Japan’s Hachino Nest Beer. You can even find 24 drafts available by the pitcher, pint or sampler size.

32 Degrees Draft House

Just a short drive south on the Strip you can find 32° Degrees Draft House at the M Resort. Sitting next to the sports book, you can quaff on one of 96 cold beers on taps ranging from classic lagers to unique ales and stouts. Look for Stone Pale, Deschutes Black Butte and several Unibroues on the menu.

Freakin’ Frog

Don’t think that because the Freakin’ Frog sits across the street from UNLV it’s a college bar. Au contraire. The list of beers at the Freakin’ Frog is so long that we can’t even list all of the greats. Just look for Black Butte Porter, Rouge's Charlie Strong Ale,    Cindercone Seasonal Red Ale, Pyramid Snow Cap and Sprecher Bourbon Barrel on tap, and an enormous list of beers by the bottle. Consider this your beer nirvana.

Freakin’ Frog is located at 4700 S. Maryland Parkway, 702.597.9702

Yard House

We’d be remiss to leave Yard House off this list with its collection of 130 beers on tap ranging from classic lagers to more obscure ales. The glass-enclosed keg room is essentially the pulse of the operation housing as much as 5,000 gallons of beer at a time. Three to five miles of individual beer lines stretch overhead from the keg room to the island bar maintaining a constant temperature of 34 to 36 degrees keeping the beer consistently fresh and perfectly chilled for every pint. Buy beer by the half yard, traditional pint or six pack sampler.
