Chowhound: Zine Noodles Dim Sum at The Palazzo Las Vegas

Zine Noodles Dim Sum at The Palazzo Las Vegas is brought to us by acclaimed Chef Simon To, recipient of the prestigious blue ribbon by the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and the man behind the exclusive The Paiza Club at The Venetian.  Zine Noodles Dim Sum melds traditional dishes with the exotic and simple with the extravagant in a comfortable, contemporary ambiance.  I've stayed at The Palazzo Las Vegas a lot over the past few years and explored the hotel, mall and casino floors extensively. In that time, I've never noticed Zine Noodles Dim Sum hidden in the corner near the high limits tables and Asian gaming tables.

The name Zine Noodles Dim Sum is a little misleading as it isn't just a place to get dim sum. Zine Noodles Dim Sum brings together all kinds of Asian flavors drawing on influences from Cantonese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese and Szechuan cuisine.

I don't often eat Asian foods, but after a late evening the night before, Zine Noodles Dim Sum was the perfect meal when waking up at The Palazzo Las Vegas. The restaurant has a very modern Asian design with clean lines throughout. The most welcome design aesthetic I enjoyed was the dim lighting. It was dark enough not to give a headache, but bright enough for my friends and I to navigate the restaurant without a problem.

My friends and I tried a variety of dishes to get the day moving. I am allergic to crustaceans so I avoided the spicy chili wonton which had pork and shrimp. I'm told they were excellent and that they hit the spot.  Personally I enjoyed the more traditional steamed pork dumplings and Mongolian beef the best.  The steamed pork dumplings were exactly what I expected from a dumpling and hit the spot. Meanwhile the star of the lunch was the Mongolian beef.  Unlike many Chinese food restaurants we've tried before, the Mongolian beef tasted fresh. The flavors woke me up a little, which was precisely what I needed.

The prices of the dishes at Zine Noodles Dim Sum are equal to what other Asian food restaurants will charge on or off The Strip making it a $$ out of four. Overall, Zine Noodles Dim Sum was good enough to make me want to return especially if I wake up at The Palazzo Las Vegas.
