The Insider: Celebrating Mother’s Day in Las Vegas

While personally I think you should take care of Mom every day, this Sunday (May 13) is Mother’s Day and in turn, why not give Mom the best day possible.  If you happen to be in or coming to Las Vegas, here are some ideas to keep in mind for Mom.

Eats

If you’re going for the gusto, make reservations to take Mom to Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace Las Vegas or Joel Robuchon at MGM Grand Las Vegas.  Easily, two of the most acclaimed restaurants in Las Vegas (and the US for that matter), taking Mom to dine at either will be an experience she will never forget.

Sunday Brunch is another option to consider and in Las Vegas there is definitely no shortage of great spots to consider, including Sunday Fountains Brunch at Jasmine inside the Bellagio Las Vegas, Valentino at The Venetian Las Vegas, Sterling Brunch at Bally’s Las Vegas and Wicked Spoon Buffet at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

If your Mom prefers for a bit more of a vibrant scene, consider treating her to an exquisite Italian feast at NOVE Italiano at Palms Casino Resort or some of the finest sushi and best fried chicken at Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill at The Cosmopolitan.  CUT at The Palazzo Las Vegas or CARNEVINO at The Venetian Las Vegas are two excellent options with delectable steaks and superb wine lists.

Drinks

If your Mom is more of a libation lover, a trip to Mandarin Bar at the Mandarin Oriental at CityCenter will take Mom’s breathe away as will the stunning vertical views of The Strip from high atop Mandalay Bay at miX or the Foundation Room.  Another option is The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan, which gives you three levels to treat Mom to custom cocktails of her liking.

Pampering

Mom spent plenty of years taking care of you, now it’s time to repay the favor and what better than getting her setup with a spa day at Canyon Ranch SpaClub at The Venetian or Drift Spa and Hammam at Palms Casino Resort.  Maybe a makeover at Michael Boychuck’s Color Salon at Caesars Palace or Violet Hour at The Cosmopolitan will do the trick too.

Just to say I love you

Chocolate and flowers can do just that and at the Bellagio Las Vegas you can visit the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on your way to Jean Philippe Patisserie for some chocolate goodness.

Vosages Haut-Chocolat and Max Brenner both inside The Forum Shops are also great spots to pick up some scrumptious chocolate treats for Mom.

Does Mom like the great outdoors?  A quick 20 minutes west of The Strip to experience the natural wonders of Red Rock?!  If she’s not a hiker, Scoot City offers some really cool tours she may enjoy.
